Jen Peele (BBC) interviews Determined D :)

Interview with Determined Diva (Got Fat?)

09/22/11

As the week almost comes to a close, I would like to share with you my personal interview with Beach Body Consultant J. Peele.  It was so much fun!

Guest Blogger Determined D!

Bio:  Dana aka Determined D lives in New Jersey.  She holds a BS in Psychology and a MBA.  Professionally she worked in Hospital Management for 12 years.  She truly loves her new exercise - MT kickboxing and blogging - they keep her fit and motivated.  Her new found love(s)  are  social media marketing, SEO, and writing guest blog articles.  She has only written one so far on 'bullying' but more are coming in the near future.  Blogging gives individuals the opportunity to freely express their ideas without judgment.  She also has two school aged children whom she loves very much and teaches them to believe in themselves.

After reading her very informative Blog I had to do an interview with her! Here are Determined D's answers!
What is your blog about?
I consider my blog a motivational fitness blog, with tips on nutrition, exercise, different activities, goals, and weight loss.  It is my personal fitness journey  :-).

Your main purpose for blogging?
To keep myself and others motivated.  There have been several things that happened over the past year that have made a positive impact on my life.  I learned that in order to achieve goals you have to believe in yourself.  We have the ability to visualize our goals and make them happen.  Sure, we look for attention from others, however, happiness comes from within.  You cannot make others happy unless you are truly HAPPY. Also, no matter how busy you are, always make time for yourself.

Motivation is an important key to success in every aspect of life.  Motivation keeps me moving, and I love to pass this onto others.  When I speak to people about my exercise routine and weight loss accomplishments, I am positive, happy, and enthusiastic.  Just the other day, I had a conversation with another woman, who asked me, how am I  going to feel better physically - my advice was exercise!  Find an activity you love and stick to it - you will feel much better physically and mentally!  Stress free = happiness.  Everyone has bad days, I promise you, drag yourself out the door to your physical activity and you will feel so much better.

When did you start blogging?
This year!  I actually learned about blogging and Wikis through a Distance Education course.  I did a couple of different educational Wikis.  Then when I started exercising this past May (2011), I decided this was going to be my exercise journal to share with the world.  I could share my motivational tips with others and they could share theirs with me, a win-win situation.  I truly love it!

Your blog is very creative with a lot of useful information, how do these topic ideas come to you?
Thank you!  I appreciate the compliment.  Actually, I often come up with ideas while walking my dog or if I wake up during the night (I think hey, that is an awesome topic to blog about, I will get out of bed and jot down a few ideas).  Generally my ideas come from things I personally want to find more information about.  Then I write what I know about the topic and research the topic.  Two of my favorite magazines are Women's and Men's Health.  I consult them often when I have ideas.
What makes your blog unique from any other “healthy living” blogs?
My enthusiasm, determination, and passion for becoming as fit as I can be.  I think I develop unique ideas and attract repeat visitors.  I also share my progress with my readers/visitors.  Anyone can blog about several topics, I back up my thoughts and ideas with solid research.

If people want to contact you personally for more helpful information, how can they reach you?
They can visit my blog at http://someonegotfat.blogspot.com and danaarev@gmail.com.  I am always looking to network with other people that are interested in fitness, exercise, and health.  I also would love hear your ideas and will accept interviews and guest bloggers with empowering stories.
Stay Determined!
