Exploring Exercise Options

Perfect quote for this blog entry.  Many put off exercise with various excuses.  Make time for exercise it has a lot of benefits for you!  I know myself.  If I stop my exercise routine, like many, it is hard to get back into it.  Find what works for you.  If at first you don't succeed, do not give up.  It may take awhile for you to find what works, but as today's quote states, "they can because they think they can".  You CAN do it, especially if you have a fitness goal or small goal that will keep you healthy.

If you have tried something at least three times and completely hate it, don't do it.  Explore various activities, don't stick to one.  I completely love kickboxing.  I discovered it last May and am still going.  I did have a break from November through the end of December and hated not going.  I'm back into my routine since the beginning of January and I'm not stopping.  I go at least twice per week.  I would love to go four times, however, I cannot due to scheduling issues.  I leave feeling awesome, every time.  I also make every attempt to attend an awesome aerobic/dance/kick ass class on Tuesday nights with my sister. Even if you cannot make an activity due to scheduling you can walk or run for at least 30 minutes three to four times per week and you will feel great.  When it gets slightly warmer I am going to add walking/running back into my routine.  I love to do those activities outdoors.

There is so much exercise advice and myths around, who do you listen to?  You listen to "you". What works for one person will not work for all.   Keep exploring all of your exercise options and activities, I promise you will find what works for "you".  Make exercise fun and something you look forward to and you will keep going back for more.

Motivation is also key.  Find what motivates you to exercise.   Check back with Got Fat? often.  Most importantly, keep a "you can" attitude.
