Feeling Stressed, Sad, or Frusturated? Try Venting!
Vent Box Network
Have you ever kept something inside too long that when you were ready to let it out it was done with force and anger? Keeping our emotions bottled up inside is not healthy over time. When one does this, they are holding stress inside. Meet Shira who invented "Vent Box Network", a unique way to vent! Let it out!
Shira's Tells Us --
Vent Box Network was created to be a place where people could vent their frustrations without the fear of criticism, social exclusion or other repercussions. It was launched last Fall but I did not start to share the site publicly until a few months ago.
Using Vent Box is very easy. All you need is the ability to type and your raw emotions. Name and email are requested but some people vent anonymously. The purpose of Vent Box is to be a cathartic tool for releasing those inner emotions that people tend to hold inside in a healthy way.
Over the years, I experienced situations and writing was the only way in which I was able to cope. Where I come from you handle conflict by either physically fighting or numbing the pain with the use of alcohol & drugs. These are two things that did not interest me, so I always felt different.
The death of my father, becoming a single mother at a young age, and a devastating break up were just a few things that I have gone through that angered me and I repressed because I did not know any other way to deal with them. In 2009, I was hospitalized. I had finally reached a breaking point. Every pain that I held inside began to manifest and impacted my physical health.
I needed a way to release what I was feeling that would allow me to be truly open and honest without others taking it personally or it being blown out of proportion. While at the same time, I realized that I am not the only person who experiences obstacles in life and it would be nice to have a network of others who like me can express themselves through writing.
