Need More Energy? Feel Sleepy? Read This...

I have been feeling sluggish lately.  I feel okay health wise, just very sleepy from time to time.  I am in need of an energy boost.  I do not believe in energy drinks as they contain many questionable ingredients and tons of caffeine.  I must add, I am not a big fan of coffee, although I am a chocolate lover.  Caffeine provides an "easy" fix but it is only temporary and just as fast as you feel more alert, soon after you will be tired again.  Let's review some permanent healthy solutions to keep us energized. 

Tip OneEat a healthy breakfast.  Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  I am not here to preach (maybe at times) however, eating healthy every day should be a priority.  Never skip is said to be the meal where you should eat the most!  If you decide on oatmeal, do not make that your only item.  Have a side of wheat toast with peanut butter and a fruit.  Variety is important. 

Tip Two:  Get your blood levels checked and be sure to always take vitamins.  A yearly physical is important.  Some tests that are not generally routine that you should consider asking your physician about are B12 and D levels.  A low B12 level could make one feel absolutely horrible - I know!  My B12 level drops so low that at times I feel shaky, tired, and at times dizzy.  A low B12 level also affects an individuals mood.  

Tip Three:  Exercise!  I have truly fallen off the exercise bandwagon.  This may be the number one reason for feeling tired and sluggish.  Exercise boosts ones energy level!  Get your exercise completed early!  Otherwise, you will make a million excuses why not to!  Exercise wakes us UP!!  See 7 Benefits of Exercise
