Proper Portions

Good Morning.  I apologize in advance for the diverse format this morning.  We aren't having a "direct" motivational Monday today.  I still think today's message is still motivational -proper food portions!  I've been back in the eating clean zone and I thought it was important that I share my thoughts on portion and portion control.  

It is important to know how to properly fuel your body.  Humans have lost the true meaning of food and nutrition. Why do we eat?  To replace our bodies sustain life.   It is okay to enjoy food but many, including me, at times, overindulge.  It is hard to find a happy medium. 

With all the family recipes, traditions, delicacies, cravings and delicious food how do we control ourselves?   My answer is learn to control yourself and your portions.     Refocus your energy on your fitness goals and the true purpose of eating found here.  I've done it before and am determined to do it again - a salad can be just as enjoyable as a slice of pizza.  Frozen yogurt with fresh fruit is just as delicious as a cup of chocolate ice cream. Change your bad eating habits and adapt healthy eating habits.  Like anything it takes time.  

It is also important to learn what to put on your plate.  How much is enough?  How much is too much?  Please review the following infographic on what portions should look like.  Note:  1/2 of your plate should be filled with vegetables.
