3 Tips to Help You Maintain Healthy Hair

People often mistreat the hair on their heads. It’s usually just there and we try to take care of it, but things don’t always go as planned and it’s not uncommon to damage it or expose it to something harmful every now and then. Bet it the sun, getting it tangled or not having a good diet to support hair growth, we usually see the signs of hair loss and damaged hair only after it’s too late. So to help you keep your hair healthy and full of life, here are three universal tips that can help both men and women no matter your age. These tips are more effective when you’re still young, but it’s never too late to save your hair (even if it’s falling out!).

Let your hair dry naturally

Everyone’s used a blow dryer at some point in their life. Whether you’re a guy or a girl, the convenience it offers is fantastic because no one wants to sit around waiting for their hair to dry. However, if you’ve been using a blow dryer for an extended period of time, then you may find your hair losing its natural oils and moisture that make it look shiny and full of life. The heat from the hair dryer will typically dry out your hair. While this sounds great, it does it too quickly and you’ll end up with hair that is easily damaged when combed or brushed. Let your hair dry naturally with the air. If this will affect your sleeping pattern, then try to wash your hair well before you go to bed to give it time to dry.

Make lifestyle changes

Your diet plays an important role in keeping your hair looking shiny and full of life. Eating fresh fruits, vegetables and drinking plenty of water is a good start, but you can supplement it with specialty foods such as salmon which is full of omega-3. If you’re finding it difficult to stick to a hair health diet, then consider taking some supplements. You can find everything from Caruso's hair growth supplements to vitamin B medication that helps to keep your hair nice and thick. You’ll also need lots of protein, iron and a mix of vitamins and minerals to keep the hair on your head healthy.

Try and stick to natural hair care products

Although many products contain synthetic ingredients, it’s important to remember that you should try and stick to natural hair products as often as possible. The chemicals added to non-natural shampoos will help your hair feel softer (especially the expensive conditioners) but this won’t last long and you don’t want your hair to rely on these chemical additives. Instead, use hair care products made from herbs and oils. They won’t give your hair that unnaturally soft feel, but it will be more healthy for your hair in the long run. Try to avoid using too many styling products as well. If you do, make sure you use a natural cleanser to get it all out of your hair.
