summer season, people enjoy basking out in the sun without care or worry of sun damage. The exposure to the risk of sun damage is high during the summer holiday when everyone is headed to
a beach or a tropical country to enjoy the sun. Basking in the sun is
considered right and at times recommended as healthy. However, the skin
can be overexposed to, sun-rays, turning into sunburn. Due to such
harmful effects of the sun on the skin, various people have conducted research
studies seeking to identify products that are available to fight back the
damaging effect of the sun.
Some of the
best measures include keeping out of the sun, covering exposed skin, and wearing a
good sunscreen. However, there are some situations, which require exposure to
the sunlight, and they cannot be avoided.

carry out research on the type of foods that can be taken to counteract the
risk of sun damage. It is, therefore,

Dark chocolate

chocolate acts as a shield from the sun rays mainly because it contains four
times as many phenol compounds, which help to reduce the risk of getting
cancer. Both phenol and catechins are
antioxidants that help to protect the
skin from sunburn and skin cancer. It is,
therefore, advisable that people who are exposed to the sun take the at
least one bar of dark chocolate in a day. This
is advantageous to individuals who love taking
chocolate.
Tomatoes
Research has
shown that lycopene-rich tomatoes can
shield skin against sunburn and also reduce the risk of getting skin
cancer. Also, these tomatoes help prevent the skin from aging. This is because
lycopene helps to neutralize the damaging
effect of UV light. It is therefore recommended
to either eat tomatoes in salad form or
use tomato paste while cooking. In most cases,
the tomatoes are taken as a fruit because it is readily available and cheap. This also helps the user to reduce the effect
of harmful rays especially people who work in places where they cannot avoid
being exposed to the sun.
Green tea
Green tea is
a healthy drink due to the ability to boost the immune system, clear up the skin and speed up metabolism. Green tea is rich in antioxidants,
which help reduce the redness of the sunburn and repairs broken capillaries.
Therefore, there is great importance in taking a cup of green tea at least once
a day. All people
regardless of age and sex can take green
tea.
Red pepper
Red peppers
contain an antioxidant, which help to reduce skin damage as UVB rays peppers
also help to reduce inflammation from sun exposure.
Garlic
Garlic is
mostly used to help flatten the belly through its ability to detoxify and
reduce bloating. It also protects the skin from the aging effect
of UV radiation because it contains a natural compound commonly known as
allicin.
Aloe Vera juice
Aloe Vera
gel is widely known for its ability to
sooth sunburns and smooths out wrinkles.
This is considered as a kind of a magic
concoction for the skin. Aloe Vera juice, on the
other hand, has healing properties in the body for damaged tissues and skin
cells.
Olive Oils
Olive oil is
not only great to use for cooking. Olive oil is also called antioxidant –risk
food that fights sun damage.
Pomegranates
Pomegranate seeds
have polyphenols, which helps in skin protection from UVA and UVB rays. Also to this, they also help the sunscreen to
work and inhibit hyper pigmentation.
Citrus
Orange and
pink citrus fruits contain significant amounts of skin cell protective compound
called limonene. The citrus fruits also contain some flavonoids, which improves the skins ability to recover from
sunburns.
Carrots
This
vegetable contains carotenoids. It is rich in antioxidants, which protect against sun damage.
Conclusion
Sunbathing thought as a good sensation, may turn to be catastrophic
when you have sensitive skin. Therefore, it is important to understand that, to enjoy the sun, without damaging your skin in
the process, the above foods will protect. The all
