Summer is fast approaching and that means everyone is on a health kick. They want to get fit and healthy so they look good for the summer. However, your health and fitness shouldn’t be something you only care about when it’s sunny. So, I have some tips to keep you fit & healthy all year round:


Healthy Meal Plans

To stay healthy all year round you need to be eating the right things. The easiest way to do this is with meal plans. At the start of each week, decide what you’ll be eating on each day. Create healthy meal ideas and then go out and buy all the ingredients. By doing this, you ensure that your kitchen is only full of things you need. There will be nothing to tempt you into breaking your diet. And, with your meals all laid out in front of you, all that remains is the cooking. My top tip is to prepare your meals the night before, so they’re ready for eating. It’s a simple tip but makes a world of difference.

Walk More

An easy way to keep yourself fit & healthy is to walk more. I think we’ve become guilty of driving our cars too much. Is there much point in driving your car for a five-minute journey? It seems pointless when you could walk instead, and it won’t take you that long! Obviously, there are some long journeys that we need to take by car/bus/train. But, start walking your short journeys and you’ll notice a big difference. Walking is good for your body and means you’re getting fresh air for your lungs too, which is good for your health.

Practice Proper Form

No matter what exercise you’re doing, you need to be doing it right. Using the proper form is essential if you want to stay in shape. For starters, correct for can lead to increased muscle gain and fat loss. But, most importantly, it helps prevent injuries. If you’re not doing things correctly, you’re risking injury every day. It may not happen instantly, but persistent bad form can cause injuries in the long run. When this happens, you’re unable to exercise and need rehabilitation. You’ll need to rest, and this will waste time that you could be working out and getting fit. It’s a fact that your fitness will suffer if you’re injured. So, practice proper form to prevent this from being an issue.

Join A Sports Club

Playing sports is a fantastic way to stay fit and remain healthy. My advice is to join a sports club/team. Doing this will help you because you won’t be on your own. You’ll have a team environment and it will make exercise seem fun. It increases your motivation and you’ll always have somewhere to go once or twice a week for training. Joining a sports team can help give you a schedule and exercise throughout the year.
