When the weather warms up, the last place you probably want to be is a hot, sweaty and overcrowded gym. But that doesn’t mean your exercise regime has to fall by the wayside! There’s plenty you can do to stay active and have fun in the process, especially when the weather is nice. Here are a couple of activities to keep you fit this summer.

When the sun is out, and the flowers are in full bloom, there’s no better time to get outside and enjoy your surroundings. Whether you live near beaches, forests, mountains, lakes or anything else- get out there and explore! It’s something you can do with the whole family, pack up a healthy picnic and really make a day of it. If you can’t round up anyone to hike with you, take your dog (or borrow a friend or neighbors!) you will both have a fantastic time, get some fresh air and soak up some sun. The best thing about hiking is it’s accessible to all, you don’t need an expensive gym membership or fancy equipment. Just a good pair of walking shoes, which once you’ve invested in will last you for years. You could go to Women's Walking Shoe Review and other similar review websites to find the best pair for you.

Bike Rides

If you want to explore your surroundings but fancy covering a bit more distance, grab your bike out of the shed and dust it off! You could have a look online for where the best bike trails are near you, or if you know the area just make your own route. It’s fantastic exercise, giving you an all-over body workout. And plus it’s the perfect way to get outside and have fun when the weather is good.

If you live close to the beach, swimming in the ocean has been shown to be very beneficial. The resistance from the waves helps tone muscles faster, and plus the salt water is great for your skin too. It has been shown to have an antibacterial effect which can help with all kinds of skin conditions. As well as the ocean, the beach, in general, is something you can utilize for working out. You could run on the sand- much more of a challenge than running on solid ground. You could play volleyball or watersports in the sea, if you live near a touristy kind of beach, there are bound to be lessons and equipment hire available. If you have an outdoor pool nearby then swimming in this is another fantastic way to soak up some sunshine while having fun and getting a workout in.

Anything you can do to get up and moving will do your body some good. Over the summer when the weather is nice, it's the perfect opportunity to do more outdoors and so use this as a chance to get active.
